2021-2022 Season Comp Info
Specific comp details will be posted here and on the calendar on the Events Page as they become available. Prior to competing, climbers must complete all season requirements which can be found on the My Account page in each climber’s online account.

| SOCO #1 11/4/21-11/10/21 (Bouldering) | Gym: Pure Bouldering Gym Event Opens: Thursday November 4th at 3pm Event Closes: Wednesday November 10th at 6pm Restrictions: Cost: $14 (day pass) for non-members Reservations: Waiver: Waivers must be signed by the climber AND by a legal guardian and can be done in advance here. Additional Information: Climbers may climb for up to 3 hours in a single & continuous block. A maximum of 5 problems will be scored and must be submitted to the electronic scoring system within one hour of completion along with a photo of the scorecard. |
| SOCO #2 11/11/21-11/17/21 (Mixed) | Gym: CityROCK Event Opens: Thursday November 11th at 3pm Event Closes: Wednesday November 17th at 7:30pm Restrictions: Please avoid climbing in large groups and avoid busy times Cost: $20 Waiver: Waivers must be signed by the climber AND by a legal guardian and can be done in advance here Additional Information: The gym will use 15 existing problems and 15 existing routes but will set 5 new problems and 5 new routes specifically for this comp. If you are a regular, do not climb on any new routes in the week leading up to the comp unless you confirm they are not intended for the competition. |

| SOCO #5 1/29/22 (Mixed) | Gym: Fountain Valley School JV Wave Doors open at 8:30 for registration and belay tests Rules meeting at 9:45 Comp (10:00-12:30) Awards (12:45) Varsity Wave Registration and belay tests begin at 12:30 Rules meeting at 1:15 Comp (1:30-4:00) Awards (4:15) Restrictions: All individuals in the gym must wear masks Cost: $25 in advance (pay in advance using the link below)/$30 day of comp Prior to the comp all climbers should: 1) Register and Pay USING THIS LINK 2) Print and sign THIS WAIVER to bring along with you to the gym 3) Watch the ORIENTATION VIDEO AND COMPLETE THIS GOOGLE FORM Parking and Gym Access: Please enter the school property by taking Fountain Valley School Road from Grinnell Blvd and park by the tennis courts (map). | SOCO #6 2/6/22-2/10/22 (Mixed) | Gym: Ubergrippen Castle Rock Times: All day Sunday. From 6am to 4pm and 7pm to 10pm weekdays. Please avoid peak hours of 4pm to 7pm. If peak hours are the only time you can climb, please do not come to the gym in large groups. Restrictions: Climbers must be certified to belay, and belay while in the gym, using an ABD (Assisted Braking Device… examples include the GriGri, Mega Jul, etc…). Please come with your own ABD if possible as rental equipment will be limited. If planning on coming in a large group to be belay tested (10 or more climbers), please provide 2 weeks notice by emailing christine@ugclimbing.com to coordinate belay tests. Cost: $22 Lead Climbing Agreement and Waiver: All climbers and spectators must have a waiver on file. Please complete the UG Waiver HERE in advance. Any climber who wishes to be lead climb certified must complete the Lead Climbing Agreement. Both the Lead Climbing Agreement and Waiver must be completed by a parent/legal guardian if the climber is 17 or under. Additional Information: Climbers may climb for up to 3 hours in a single & continuous block. A maximum of 5 climbs will be scored (2 ropes, 2 boulders, next best of either type) and must be submitted to the electronic scoring system within one hour of completion along with a photo of the scorecard. |
| SOCO Regional Comp 2/20/22 (Mixed) | Gym: Gripstone To compete in the High School Regional Championships, climbers must have competed in and submitted results at 3 previous ASCL competitions this season. We are excited to host the first ever Middle School Regional Championships during this same event. Any SOCO middle school climbers who are registered ASCL members are welcome to compete. Regional and State Comp Qualifications Info Time: Check-In Begins at 7am Rules Meeting at 7:45am Competition from 8am to noon Awards Ceremony upon completion of results submission Restrictions: Masks are encouraged Cost: $25 Click Here to Register/Pay Waiver: All competitors are required to have a liability waiver on file. You can fill one out on the Gripstone Website, and after booking your entry you’ll receive an email link to the waiver as well Additional Information: Lead climbers must supply their own ropes and must use an assisted braking device (ABD) to belay (examples include Grigri, Jul, Pilot) Any person belaying during the competition is required to have undergone and passed a belay test at Gripstone. Any person looking to lead belay or climb is required to have undergone and passed a lead test at Gripstone. Competitors who do not pass these tests will be unable to belay or lead climb during the competition. All competitors are strongly encouraged to come to Gripstone and take these tests before the competition, so they do not have to wait in line, or test during their competition time. |
